Tara Point Inn & Cottages Guest “Policies”

Occupancy: The normal occupancy for are Riverside Rooms in the Inn are for 1 or 2 individuals.  The Delta Queen suite and All of our Cottage suites are also priced for 1 or 2 individuals.  Additional guests may be accommodated in suites for an additional $15 per person for a maximum of 4 per suite.  Extra persons staying in any of our guest suites must be registered.  Our lost key fee is $25.

Local and State Taxes:  All room rates are subject to 10.64% local and state tax.

Minimum Stay: No minimum stay is required.

Deposit Required: Credit card information is required to book your stay. Phone reservations will be held with the information that is received; no immediate charges will be made. 

Payment Methods:  Tara Point does accept credit & debit cards, which are subject to a 3.5% processing fee. Payment is due upon arrival and is accepted in cash, check, money order, traveler’s checks, debit, or credit.

Cancellation: Reservations cancelled 7 days or more prior to arrival date will be refunded in full.  Cancellations made less than 7 day prior to arrival date will only be refunded if we are able to rebook the room.

Check-In: Check-in time is at 3 PM. Upon arrival, pick up your cottage key at the main building. Head to the circle drive, locate the door with a sign that says “Check In Here,” and enter to find your envelope & key. Check-out is at 11 AM.

Smoke Free:  Tara Point Inn & Cottages does not allow smoking inside any of our buildings.   Smoking is allowed outside on our decks and adjoining grounds.  There will be a significant room recovery fee for guests who do not comply in order to cover the extensive cost of restoring guest rooms.

Children/Pets:  Children 9 years and older are most welcome. Sorry, NO pets.  There will be a significant room recovery fee for guests who do not comply in order to cover the extensive cost of restoring guest rooms.

Damages:  Guests will be assessed and appropriate charge for any theft or damage to their room or suite.

Restrictions: Sorry, we do not allow smoking inside any of the Tara Point buildings due to past fire. No cooking (other than warming breakfast items) inside or outside on our property.

Guests who book a Cottage suite are not permitted to use the deck or the game room at the Inn. The game room is the living room for our Inn guests. Private decks are provided for each cottage. Guests who book a room at the Inn are not permitted on the cottage decks.

All guests are free to roam the woods, use the gazebo, and relax in the rocking chairs by the house.
